Light weight pulleys

#1
Anyone bros tried changing to lightened pulleys here?

What I got is: you can rev faster, but that also means you'll run out of your power band sooner.

Any comments?

The reason why you feel that it "runs out of the power band sooner" is because the higher order vibrations is causing the engine to become unbalanced at faster engine speeds. In effect if the car is operated in the high speed range for a prolonged period of time it will vibrate itself to pieces.

It is an inherent design limitation of inline 4 cylinders. That is why Mitsubishi invented balance shaft pulleys, to dampen all these vibrations. Some people remove the balance shafts to get more power but that is a short-term gain because they can afford to rebuild the engine.
